Infinitphase MkII - 2010 production run
I'm pleased to write that the only pedal having more knobs than the English football team, the Infinitphase MkII, is to make another appearance in the very near future. Like an ugly brick smashed in the face of a world obsessed with cheap tiny-DSP based FX, the Infinitphase MkII 2010 will offer:
- a mind-boggling array of phasing / filtering / vibrato tones
- optional mods that enhance the basic model, and allow extra flexibility and sound capabilities
- the same slightly annoying requirement for a special power adapter, which is more than compensated for by huge headroom; feed in your guitar, synths etc without fear of distortion
- the very same confusing array of knobs not quite adequately explained in the detailed instructions or by myself via email (or possibly Skype)
- high-quality parts and Australian-based construction, along with a 24-hour burn-in and a bunch of testing / tweaking
- the ability to be weaponised during the coming 2012 zombie apocalypse; dispatch both anonymous undead and recently infected loved ones with ease, utilising the Infinitphase's weighty steel box construction and handy sharp edges
Now, some Q&A with an imaginary potential purchaser....
Q: what exactly is being reissued here?
A: the first release of the MkII infinitphase, with cosmetics close to the original (black powder-coated box, white silk-screen printing and red LEDs)
Q: what is the price of the base model?
A: AUD$499
Q: you mentioned a special adapter....
A: yes - the MkII requires a 16VAC power supply (2.1mm plug), for example this one. You can acquire this adapter yourself, or I can help arrange one for AUD$50. If you plug a 'standard 9VDC into the infinitphase it's likely some 'magic smoke' will escape, and you'll be left with something that only looks like an infinitphase.
Q: what about shipping?
A: shipping is a fixed AUD$50 for insured airmail anywhere in the world. Please note this doesn't include tracking as this service isn't available from Australia Post, only via a special courier company; let me know if you want it shipped with tracking and we can work something out.
Q: what mods are available, and what do they do?
A: for the latter, please prefer to the Infinitphase MkII page on this site; however, this run, these are the mods available (with updated pricing in Australian dollars):
- LFO speed switch (AUD$25)
- phase stage switch (AUD$25)
- LFO speed 1/4" control socket, LFO depth 1/4" control socket and phase step range 1/4" control socket (AUD$20 for one, AUD$35 for two, AUD$50 for all three)
- stereo output / input buffer conversion (AUD$75)
- S&H / random LFO mod (AUD$110)
- choice of LEDs + other possible mods (ask me!)
Q: when will production begin, and what else do I need to know?
A: shipping of completed pedals will start from late July, in the order that deposits are received; a deposit of AUD$75 is required, and if you have selected any mods then full payment is required after the basic pedal is finished, but prior to modding. The production run will be strictly limited, and the number of MkIIs made will depend (obviously!) on demand and how much time I have (there's other things I'm working on too)...
Q: I think I'd like to proceed. What now?
A: email me (remove the NOSPAM), and I'll setup a user account so we can manage the configuration and ordering process; this way it's easier for me to spend time focussing on building and testing things, and you can also receive status updates at various stages of the construction process.
